Kāhui Irarau is a platform to facilitate connection and support for rainbow and takatāpui communities at Massey University.
Kāhui Irarau had an established brand identity then underwent a name change which was why I was brought onboard as an intern at Open Lab. My role was to maintain the same visual language as the original logo, but to refine it with the new name. With the name change, the brand guidelines needed to be updated along with all collateral designs and logos.
The logo was a hand-written font and part of the process was to refine the typography look and feel so that it felt handmade yet still clean and refined. I then produced a logo suite which consisted of various logotypes for different applications e.g. CMYK, RGB, pdf, jpg, png and eps.
Graphical feather elements were developed with the original brand name and I updated these to fit the new designs. I also developed a feather texture pattern and duotone feather graphic elements.
I developed templates for the client to be able to take the brand and own it themselves and create their own designs.
